Cosmic Wave Films was founded in 2022 by Nick Marinucci and Angela Hamilton. We write, direct, and produce short films, leveraging the massive talent pool in the Orlando area, including actors who have booked roles in major Disney films (Wish) and Apple TV (Bad Monkey). Two of our shorts were licensed by Ruthless Studios (Terrifer 2, All Hallow's Eve) for streaming distribution, and we have achieved international appeal with film screenings in the US, Ireland, and the UK. Our films have won multiple awards across categories from acting and production design to score, directing, and best picture.
Cosmic Wave Films has earned a reputation in Orlando for raising the bar on what low budget indie films can accomplish. We strategically challenge ourselves with every production. Whether that's through filming a story set in the 1970s (The Road to You) on location at the pristinely preserved home of famous beatnik author Jack Kerouac, or being the first in our peer group to utilize virtual production by filming in a 155' x 26' immersive LED Volume at Vū Orlando (now Chapman Leonard).
We're known for our keen eye for recognizing talent and our passion for writing relatable and entertaining stories with strong ensemble casts. Our films often blend genres, but each one addresses significant themes including positive depictions of mental health, dealing with grief, or social critique. We're also known for promoting a healthy set culture where everyone feels valued, respected, and heard, and we've become experts at maintaining that energy and motivating teams to cross the finish line and make our days.
In addition to producing an upcoming horror anthology and developing their first feature film based on the short proof of concept Soundspire, Cosmic Wave Films has also branched out into client work by producing music videos and cinematic wrestling content.
